Child Development/Drawing Milestones Chart Age 4 "Symbolism Stage"

I've joined my drawing development charts with the CDC growth guidelines that teachers and pediatricians use to assess children. By putting them together, you'll easily be able to see how your child is progressing in mark-making. This natural progression is something your child needs to work through on their own with lots of access to crayons and pencils. It is not linear, which means things will develop as your child thinks about them -- or is very fond of repeating. They may return to earlier motifs. Please don't try to direct it! Just observe, providing plenty of time, encouragement, and simple tools. It's totally mind-blowing to watch a young human develop this visual language! When your little one starts trying to draw people, that's a leap in understanding! I love these early stages so much.
